The Nirapai-Safety Plug is a safety extension plug designed to provide a strong and secure connection between the plug and socket, preventing accidental unplugging or any unpredictable causes while in use. Its unique design stabilizes electricity current, extending the product's lifespan and ensuring safer and more convenient usage compared to normal plugs.
Made from 100% PC plastic, the Nirapai-Safety Plug has specific dimensions for both the plug and socket. The plug measures 29 mm in width, 41.5 mm in length, and 17 mm in thickness, with an approximate weight of 21.5 g. The socket has the same width and thickness but is longer at 53.5 mm, weighing approximately 25 g. The total set, including both the plug and socket, measures 29 mm in width, 95.0 mm in length, and 17 mm in thickness, with an approximate weight of 46.5 g.
The project to develop the Nirapai-Safety Plug started in September 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand, and was completed in August 2017. Throughout the design process, the team faced various creative and technical challenges, which they successfully overcame to create this innovative safety plug.
The Nirapai-Safety Plug has been recognized for its excellence and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Product Engineering and Technical Design category in 2018. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate outstanding ingenuity and authenticity, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology. The Nirapai-Safety Plug contributes to improving the quality of life by ensuring safety and security in the use of electrical devices.
With its commitment to safety and innovation, the Nirapai-Safety Plug is a testament to the designer, Viroj Khanampornpan's, dedication to creating a better and safer future for electricity users worldwide.
